An estimated 8,000 people lined the streets near downtown and Bricktown on Saturday afternoon for Oklahoma City’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade featured 96 entries, including classic cars, tractors, fire engines, Irish step dancers and clowns.
David Egan, co-owner and director of operations for Cattlemen’s Steakhouse and president of the Stockyards City Association, served as grand marshal.
People wore green hats and wigs and ate green cotton candy.
Jim Flynn, a member of the parade committee, dressed in green from head to toe. “Everybody becomes a little bit Irish,” Flynn said. He has been a member of the parade committee for 24 years.

Alric, who is from Choctaw, gave the University of Oklahoma’s mascot a high-five and pet the mascot for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. His family comes for the parade every year.
