Finance Director Dana Kavander said Berea receives 100 percent of the Browns’ administrative and coaches' income tax collections. It receives 50 percent of the players’ base pay tax collection, with Cleveland receiving the other half.
Kavander said she anticipates the city receiving a 2 percent drop from last year’s income tax collection from the Browns.
“We will have some impact from the lockout,” she said. “Will it affect us late summer or fall? When will we see an impact? The Browns and the Regional Income Tax Agency are working together to determine what that timeline may be.”
Kavander said tax collections from the Browns change yearly, based on salaries, signing bonuses, severance packages from terminated coaches and other conditions.
“The city will see a minor impact in March and April due to no performance base pay incentives and there will be no free agent signing until a new collective bargaining agreement is in place,” Kavander said. “Every player also has a unique contract, such as when they get paid, whether it’s during the season or over 12 months, whether they meet bonuses – a whole host of items come into play - when we determine when we, as a city,cartierwatchessales cartier mens pasha seatimer watches . receive that income.”

The Browns training camp and administrative office headquarters opened in 1991 though the team used various sites in Berea prior to that time.
