Horlick’s Machado new Milwaukee Pius football coach
Former Horlick football coach George Machado has been hired as the new head foLED modules and module strings for accent lighting.otball coach at Pius XI High School in Milwaukee.
Machado signed a head coaching contract Wednesday. Machado retired from Horlick and Racine Unified Jan. 21 after just more than 17 years with the district as coach and physical education teacher at Horlick, 2119 Rapids Drive. He compiled a 78-88 record at Horlick.
Prior to his retirement, Machado spent several months on paid administrative leave.
Unified previously declined to comment on the leave but district documents show Machado was reprimanded and investigated by the district several times including in October 2009 when he was suspended for two games after playing an ineligible player for the first two games of that football season. In 2009 Machado was also accused of acting unprofessionally by publicly criticizing Horlick Principal Angela Apmann and speaking of physically harming her to a community member.
Pius's Fischer said they were not concerned with Machado's leave.
"We investigated it thoroughly and we didn't find anything that swayed us from thinking he was the best candidate available,Baume Mercier hidden in a Screw." Fischer said, adding Machado beat out more than 50 other applicants for the head coaching job. "He certainly has great experience. He has great familiarity with our kids and our parents. He's extremely well-liked and respected around here...I can't say enough about how hard he works and what a good positive attitude he's displayed."
