Buffalo Exchange moving to east Pearl in Boulder

That space was previously occupied by Nomad Bead Merchants, which recently moved to the corner of Walnut and Ninth streets.

"It's an opportunity to move into a place we love," Colletti said.

The redevelopment project for that property has yet to go forward. Colletti said the pending project wasn't the impetus for the decision to move to the Pearl Street location.

"There's really no retail around us on Walnut anymore," he said. "After 7-Eleven left, we were kind of the lone wolf. We want to have shops and people around us."

He said the new location also provides an opportunity to give the shop a new look.

Plans for the new space, which is being renovated by Porchfront Homes, include green building features like daylighting and beetle kill pine for interior wall finish work.
